Two Days Off Clothing Review: Jordan Dress

Ok so this review is only a couple months late since I purchased this back in May. But since I’ve slowed down my reviews to once a week, reviews are out later than usual. Luckily I don’t review fast fashion brands (or fast fashion adjacent) because at this pace, the items would be gone by the time my review comes out for most conventional brands. Ilana Kohn Review: The Mabel Jacket

If you’ve read my What I Bought in May post, you already know that I’ve returned this Mabel jacket from Ilana Kohn. But I thought I would write this quick review here for those who are interested in this jacket (still selling at the Garmentory) or it’s close cousin the Park Jacket still selling at IlanaKohn.com. And sometimes the Mabel jacket will show up time to time on the RealReal (their current selection of Ilana Kohn jackets here), which is where I found this one.

Beklina Review: The Ribbed Open Toe Clog

After writing up my review for the Beklina Matisse Criss Cross Platforms, I ended up purchasing these Ribbed Open Toe Clogs in both black and buff (as I mentioned at the end of that review). Well it’s been over 5 months since I got these shoes so it was about time I wrote up a review. If you follow me on Insta, you see that I wear these shoes a lot (see the compilation above lol). I loooove how they look and how comfortable they are, and they’ve quickly become my go-to shoes.

Two Days Off Clothing Review: The Safia Midi Skirt

If you can’t already tell by now when I love a brand, I loooove them and have to try almost everything from them. It’s happened before with Everlane and Elizabeth Suzann, and I can tell it’s now happening with Two Days Off. So far I’ve reviewed two dresses and a top, but this will be my first review of a bottom. I saw this Safia Midi skirt on Gina and knew that this would be next on my list. I love the quality of their linen (which I’ve ranked as number one on my list of linen from ethical brands), so I knew I wanted to try it in this sleek looking midi skirt.

I purchased this top in November of last year, but have only worn it a handful of times. I was a little iffy about writing this post because I love Two Days Off and Gina, but I have to honestly say I don’t love this linen Olivia top. But it has nothing to do with the top, but rather it’s due to my own personal preference for smaller linen tops.

Verlein Ana Crossbody Review {Updated February 2022}

When Veronika the founder of Verlein, a Prague-based brand that makes bags, asked if I wanted to collaborate, I was at first hesitant because you know how picky I am about my bags. But I decided to take a chance because not only did I find their Ana Crossbody to be a gorgeous classical bag, but I also really liked how their ethical manufacturing and sustainability standards are baked into their company ethos yet not trumpeted in their marketing.

Since I love my Only Child Linen Cove pants so much (it was one of my most worn items of 2020), I decided to get the black tencel Cove pants during Only Child’s sample sale last November. And even though I’ve already reviewed the linen Cove pants, I decided to do a seperate one for this tencel version since it’s slightly different from my first pair.

Linenfox Anna Dress Review (and comparison to the Tradlands Nico Dress) {Updated March 2021}

I’ve been wearing this dress for awhile now but haven’t had a chance to yet review this sweet red Anna dress from Linenfox. I ordered this back in August and I got it in October of last year but because I’m currently in Hawaii I’ve been lucky enough to be able to enjoy wearing it all through this winter. If you’re not familiar with Linenfox, they are a small brand that makes linen clothing to order (thus reducing waste by not producing excess). They only use OEKO-tex certified high quality midweight linen (see where they fall in my ethical linen comparison review here). You can learn more about them here.

Ilana Kohn Review: The Eleanor Top

I’ve tried a jumpsuit from Ilana Kohn before (Ilana Kohn Harry jumpsuit review here) but I ended up selling it because it was just a bit too small (after some pandemic weight gain) and I found I never wore it. Plus it was made from a heavy denim material so it was a little too hot for everyday wear. But I was impressed with the quality and knew if I saw something from them again I’d try it out. Well I found this Eleanor top on the RealReal and snapped it up right away.

Mansur Gavriel Mini Protea Bag Review: Is It Worth It & What Fits In It?

I first talked about Mansur Gavriel Mini Protea Bag in exactly this Biscotto color back in June of 2019 (I love how blogging has helped me keep track of things like this lol). Anyway since then I’ve thought about getting this bag off and on but never committed to purchasing it because I didn’t want to pay for it full price and I never saw it for a good price and in good condition secondhand. Well it just took a year and a half for Mansur Gavriel to put it on sale, and even though it’s not returnable I decided to take a chance on it since I’ve been wanting it for over a year. Ree Projects Review: The Mini Helene Tote Bag {Updated February 2022}

Ree Projects is an Amsterdam-based, Black female-owned business that produces beautiful bags made in Italy. I first found them on Instagram and fell in love with the unusual shape of this Helene Mini tote bag. After doing a little more research and reading their sustainability manifesto I knew Ree Projects is the kind of intentional brand I wanted to support. So I contacted Desiree directly when I saw that the color I wanted (this caramel one) was out of stock. Lucky for me they had one left in the warehouse at the time and I purchased it directly from her. This was early July of last year (I know this review is looong overdue). Now I see that her bags are more readily available (and a little less than what I paid for due to the Euro-USD conversion at the time). Purseblog even did a full interview with her here in October. Guess I know a noteworthy bag and brand when I see one!

Beklina Review: The Matisse Criss Cross Platform Slides

I bought these Beklina Matisse Criss Cross Platform Slides back in November and if you follow me on Insta you’ve probably seen them a lot. I first heard of this small women-owned ethical brand from Erica (my number one enabler/tempter lol), but had seen her shoes before (especially her clogs and sandals). So when she had a November sale I couldn’t resist getting these platform slides in buff (with the 50% off sale I got them for $115 including tax and shipping—such a good deal for ethically made clog-type shoes).

In some cultures it’s lucky to wear new underwear for the new year. So what’s more fitting than my first review here to be about new underwear for the new year on my new blog? And what better color than green since it signifies better luck for this year than the last. Here’s hoping 2021 is a much better year! So what did I think of the much instagrammed ARQ underwear?

Only Child Linen Cove Pants vs. Linenfox Ocean Pants

So the idea for this post is all thanks to Andrea, who asked me what the differences were between the Only Child Cove pants and the Linenfox Ocean pants. I briefly went over it in my Linenfox Linen Wide Leg Culottes Review (this is before they decided to call them the Ocean pants) but I don’t think I really did the measurements and comparison justice. I also went off of my gut feeling (and didn’t actually bust out my measuring tape) so I think this brief comparison review might be helpful for those looking for slow-made, ethical wide-leg linen pants. Unsponsored U Beauty Review: The Resurfacing Compound {November 2021 update}

I first heard about U Beauty (a women-owned, POC brand) through Jennifer Fisher’s Instagram, though I’ve known about Tina since her BagSnob days (one of the OG bag blogs). I’ve trusted JF before when she led me to Augustinus Bader (I talk about that in my Augustinus Bader Rich Cream review), so I thought I’d take a chance with this U Beauty Resurfacing Compound on her recommendation.

Babaa Review the no18 mini natural cardigan: Is it worth it? {Updated January 2022}

I tried my first babaa sweater back in 2018 and even though it was not love at first wear, I guess I hadn’t stopped thinking about it because here I am 2.5 years later with my very first babaa cardigan. If you’re not familiar with this ethical Spanish brand, they consciously make wool and cotton sweaters with people and the environment in mind.

Tradlands Review: The Nico Dress {Updated April 2021}

As I mentioned in my “What I Bought in August” post, I impulse purchased this Nico dress from Tradlands during their weeks of sales. I purchased it the first week (so I got 20% off) but they were already running low on sizes, especially in this Caroline print. So I had to get an XS though I’m normally a small in Tradlands sizes (my past Tradlands review here and here).

Horses Atelier Review: Patch Pocket Skirt

Horses Atelier is another ethical brand that I learned of courtesy of Erica (she strikes again! lol). They’re a Canadian brand led by two women, and all their clothes are made in Toronto from fabric sourced from Italy or Japan. So you can imagine they make some high quality items with a price point to match. So yet again, I turned to the RealReal to get my secondhand fashion fix.

Only Child Clothing Review: Dune Pants

I am officially the Goldilocks of Only Child Dune pants. This is my third pair from this Oakland-made, women-led slow fashion brand though probably not my last lol. I got my first pair in black in a size 2, which had fit but was quite tight. This was 2 years ago and Haley was nice enough to exchange it to a size 4. But I got pregnant and blew up in size soon after, so I never really got to wear it (thus no review of the Dune pants 2 years ago). I sold it thinking I probably wouldn’t be able to fit back into them post-pregnancy (and I was right). Well I guess the Dune pants never left my mind because two years later, I bought my third pair is amber linen (no longer available in this color) in a size 8 petite off of eBay.
