Some of my favorite things in review are bags (both firsthand and secondhad) and anything from Quince. I’m all about the value!

Most Worn Items of 2020

Most worn items 2020

I don’t tally my wears anymore (I used to do it with the StyleBook App though I might start again in 2021 just to see where things stand). But having done the exercise for almost 2 years straight I have a pretty good feel for what are my most worn items and how many times I’ve actually worn them (my big takeaway from those 2 years of tracking is that when estimating, you probably haven’t worn them as many times as you think you did). Anyway I thought I would do a quick post about my 6 most worn items for 2020, a year of staying at home and a transitioning style. They are (in no particular order):

Two Days Off Haruko Dress: This is no surprise I’m sure. I talked about it in my Most Favorite Items I’ve Blogged About post and you see it in my Instagram stories or feed at least once a week. I just love this easy to wear, instantly polishing dress with good deep pockets. I reviewed the dress here.

Arizona Birkenstocks: I don’t talk about these shoes much because I still don’t think they’re all that fashionable. But I can walk miles and miles in them and they are my go-to shoes. The bottom of the soles have worn down a bit but they still got a lot of life left in them considering I wear them almost everyday.

Fendi By The Way Purse: This is my pandemic purse and I have carried it almost every time I went out this year. I like that it has 3 compartments, with the middle one zippered. I stash all my “use when out” stuff in one side (like my card case, sunglasses, and hand sanitizer), my keys in the middle, and my wallet (and any other stuff I try not to touch when out but still need just in case) in the third compartment . This way I only have to sanitize somethings and not everything when I get home. I switched out the strap a long time ago (I’m currently using the strap that came with my Cafune purse). But I’m starting to consider finding a nylon or fabric one that’s thicker because I’m also using this purse like a baby hip carrier when carrying Emi these days. I don’t put her full weight on it, but it helps to support her weight when I carry her. It works surprisingly well because of the triangular shape of the bag. My full review of the Fendi By The Way bag here.

Only Child Cove Pants: Whenever I went out and wanted to wear pants, my go-to has been the OC linen Coves. They’re like nice PJ bottoms I can wear outside, and I’ve gotten several compliments on them. They work for almost any weather (in California) and because they’re so high waisted, I can pair them with anything in my wardrobe. I love them so much that I just purchased another pair of Coves in black tencel! My OC Linen Cove Pants review here.

Uniqlo Lounge Pants: So I’ve never blogged about this before since I got them waaaay before I started blogging (I think I got my two pairs almost 10 years ago) and they’re my “inside clothes” pants. But since I’m inside way more than usual, these pants have gotten more wear than usual. I don’t advocate purchasing fast fashion of course, but these pants are made well (from rayon), super comfortable and have lasted me a decade so I don’t really consider them fast fashion even if they are from Uniqlo. Anyway I’ve worn them so much that this year I started getting a hole near the ankle (which I plan to repair). I have the jogger versions but I want to try their straight legged version.

Mate the Label Organic Terry Raglan Sweatshirt (formerly called the Vintage Pullover) : This is another “inside clothes” item that I’ve worn a lot due to the pandemic but haven’t taken as many pictures of on the blog or the gram. They do have quite a few more stains on it now (wearing white while having a toddler is not the best combo), but I don’t mind because they’re inside clothes. You can find my Mate the Label review here.

I originally had a top 5 post planned but when I couldn’t cut any of these items out I just made it to 6 (hope you guys don’t mind lol). Anyway looking back at my most worn items of 2018 (I had 20 items on that list!), I see that the Birkenstocks were on that list too (wow it’s gotten a lot of wears!). I guess I can officially say that the Birkenstocks are the MVPs of my wardrobe. I never thought I would say that since I still don’t consider them good-looking shoes but I guess comfort beats style every time, and this is especially true in 2020.
