I’ve been putting off this post for so long because there’s just so many of Quince’s home goods I’ve tried since I first purchased from them back in 2019. And sitting down to write my thoughts on all of them seemed like a daunting task. But since I’ve collated all my thoughts on other Quince items (see my Quince Fine Jewelry Review, Quince All Things Linen Review, Quince Bags Review, and Quince Shoes Review) I figured it’s about time I put together my thoughts on Quince home items. So without further ado…
I started growing my own microgreens at the beginning of this year and it’s been one of the healthiest addition to my diet in ages! I love harvesting them each morning and sprinkling them on top of my avocado toast for an extra boost of vitamins as well as flavor. Since I have two kits, one from Zestigreens and another from Hamama Greens, I thought I would do a little review comparing the two since they’re slightly different.
One thing about living in an older house is that sometimes there are no overhead lights. We’re used to recessed lighting so we didn’t have many lamps when we moved in. Well I finally got a lamp about 2 years after moving in because we just needed more light (though I really didn’t want to accumulate more furniture). I’m not sure how I found Brightech, a San Francisco direct-to-consumer (DTC) company, but I’m so glad I did!
I don’t know if you can tell by now, but Quince is now my go-to brand for pretty much everything. I love their quality clothing (both womens and mens), jewelry, bags, and even home goods. And I’m very lucky that many of you guys have supported these reviews by purchasing through my referral link (thank you guys! ). But after doing so many Quince reviews, which items were my most used? My favorites? Well here they are (in no particular order):
This dual bin composter was one of my most exciting purchases this year (yes I’ve been looking forward to getting one for awhile) so I thought I would take the time to review it, even though it’s not really under the purview of this style blog. But then again when has that stopped me from reviewing an item? I’ve always wanted one of these rotating composter, ever since I tried making my own DIY composter about 10 years ago. This easy solution definitely works but it takes awhile (like about a year or more) for everything in the compost to break down. So when I was browsing for a spinning composter (because heck doesn’t that look like fun), I decided on this dual chamber tumbling composter from Amazon.
I first heard of Blueland through Kristy’s review of their dish soap and bathroom cleaner. And since I happened to be out of hand soap and my multi-surface cleaner, I thought it would be a great time to try out their products. So what did I think?
Since Father’s Day is right around the corner (this Sunday!) I thought I’d take the time to review something that might interest the outdoorsy pyro-loving man (or woman) in your life, this Solo Stove. We got the Bonfire size Solo Stove bundle at the beginning of the year and it was the perfect gathering spot on our patio during the cold winter months! So do I think the Solo Stove is worth it? Absolutely (if you are the campfire-loving type).
If you read my last Tangie review, you know I’m a huuuge fan of their shampoo bar (though not their conditioner bar unfortunately). Well in that first order from WasteFreeProducts.com (this is the site of the people who make Tangie products), I also got two Hand Soap Paste Bars. I loved those so much (and used it up straight away) that I ordered three more hand soap bars, and I thought it was about time I reviewed them. Then I got the Laundry Stain Remover Bar from my friend for Christmas (thanks Lynne!) and thought I would review that today too.
When we first moved into our new house last October, I knew I wanted a rug for a spacious living room area. In the past I’ve purchased rugs from Ikea and Target, but I always end up donating them or dumping them because I was moving (to a smaller space) or they were too dirty to clean. So this time around I wanted something that would last and something that I could clean. I first heard of Ruggable through a friend who was an early adopter of the brand. She is very picky and very clean so I knew if this rug brand was good enough for her it would more than good enough for me.
Now I’m no stranger to washable silk pillowcases. I first purchased and reviewed the original Slip silk pillowcase over two years ago and an Amazon dupe for the Slip silk pillowcase (tl;dr of the two reviews: I thought the Slip silk pillowcase was worth its $79 price tag (ok now I see it retails for $89) while the Amazon dupe, which sounded the same on paper, was not the same and I thought it was worth getting the original). If you want to see all the benefits of a silk pillowcase, refer to my review of the original Slip pillowcase (and I really do stand by those benefits).
Since I talked about these Quince Turkish Spa Bath Towels in my last two posts (My Fairly Curated Gift Guide and What I Bought in November), I figured I’d bump up my review of them. Because you guys, these are some really great towels. I’m not a bath towel aficionado, but I’ve had more than my fair share of buying them due to running our Airstream business in the past.
I’m no bedding expert but I have reviewed some direct to consumer (DTC) bedding brands like Brooklinen and Casper. (If you want a really good review of DTC bedding, Luxe wrote one last year). But I’ve always purchased cotton bedding because that’s what I was used to. And then when I wrote about linen clothing a couple years ago, several of you guys raved about linen sheets. But the price point for linen sheets seemed too high for just a “try out” (I mean what if I disliked it, then what?). So I put linen sheets on my “someday” list. Well when Last Brand asked if there was anything I would like to review, I jumped at the chance to try out their Oeko-Tex certified linen bedding.
As an early Mother’s Day treat for myself (coupled with a little bit of quarantine boredom), I decided to finally try a wine club subscription. I’ve been tempted by them in the past, but didn’t see a reason to subscribe if I can pick up a bottle every week on my grocery run. But now with food and other essentials taking priority in my shopping cart, I’ve been buying less alcohol over all (which is great!). But sometimes I just need a glass of wine.
If you follow my Insta and/or my weekend updates, you know I’ve been on quite an indoor plant shopping spree. I’ve always loved houseplants and have had orchids and succulents for awhile (mostly received as gifts). But maybe because it was springtime and the fact that I’m at home all the time, but I just wanted to be surrounded by greenery. I started following a ton of plant Instagram accounts (there’s soooo many you guys), and then got sucked into some online plant shopping. And whether it’s for yourself or someone else, houseplants make the best kind of gifts. They’re the gift that keeps on giving (and if you are good at propagating, they’re free gifts you can give your friends). Anyway here are some of the sites I checked out that delivers plants:
I’ve been a long time fan of Jennifer Fisher of Jennifer Fisher Jewelry. She’s the uber stylish mom and CEO that I would love to grow up to be someday lol. She also is an avid cook and I love all the healthy recipes she makes (which can be found on her jewelry website). I follow her through her personal Insta account, her cooking account, and her jewelry business account.
As an allergy sufferer living in California (pollen! pm2.5 from our crazy wildfires!), I’ve purchased a lot of air purifiers via Amazon in the last couple of years. Also as a former public health student who has studied the effects of air pollution on health, I really believe in the health risks from breathing poor air quality (inflammation from breathing in pm2.5 is associated with higher risks of not only respiratory issues but also heart disease). So I’m willing to invest in a good air purifier, and I’ve tried a lot! So learn from my purchasing mistakes and wins if you’re in the market for a good air purifier.

About Me
Hello! My name is Elaine and this is my small corner of the internet where I share my life, my style (consisting mostly of slow fashion, secondhand items, and ethical brands), and anything else that I'm interested in. Almost all reviews here are unsponsored and unbiased (or at least I try to be). I hope you find something useful here and thanks for reading!
I first found out about Ecovac and their line of vacuum and mopping robots through a Japanese Youtube influencer about a year ago. And ever since then I’ve wanted one because I dislike dirty floors but also dislike mopping. So was the Ecovac Deebot T30S Combo worth it?
