I decided to check out the stats of my blog the other day and thought I would do a little round-up here of what were my most visited posts of last year and a little commentary about how I feel about the items now. None of the posts were written in 2021, but these were the most visited. So here they are from the most popular:
1) Celine Nano Belt Bag vs. Micro Belt Bag Review: This is consistently one of my top posts each month so I’m not surprised to see it as number one for the year. TBH I kind of wish I kept my Mico Belt along with the Nano since the Micro size is such a great mom-bag size. As it is currently, I hardly use the Nano Belt bag these days since I can’t fit everything I need for Emi in it. I’ll probably use it more once she gets older.
2) Cartier Bracelet Review: I think this post sees a lot of traffic because I add in the title “Is it worth it?” lol. And well two years in, do I still think it’s worth it? Eh, probably less so than when I wrote it. Granted, I have gained some weight since then so the bracelet is a tad snugger on my wrist, which means I don’t wear it 24/7 anymore. Also I’m less enthused about luxury jewelry brands (or maybe once I’ve owned it for a couple years, the shine wears off?). These days I’m still an avid fan of antique and vintage jewelry from Etsy (especially those from Victorian to Edwardian times) but I haven’t looked at Cartier for at least a year. In the end it seems fairly generic and tbh kind of boring 🤷🏻♀️. But the bracelet is a classic and I still wear it occasionally when the mood strikes (and it goes with everything). And at the very least if I were to sell it, it would hold its value better than other unbranded jewelry. {Update: So I wrote this post about 2 weeks ago and have since then been wearing it again 24/7 and luckily it fits comfortably again—must be my very minimal workout routine lol. Anyways I love it still and do think it’s worth it if you wear it often.}
3) Augustinus Bader Rich Cream Review: Still a fan of the AB Rich Cream, still using the Rich Cream, and still featuring the Rich Cream in my yearly favorites posts.
4) One Quince Cashmere and Leather Crossbody Review: I still love Quince items (especially their linen sheets and currently loving their SuperSoft Fleece pants), but I no longer have my leather crossbody nor the cashmere sweater. I think if were to get cashmere from Quince I would go with their Baby Cashmere line since the cashmere quality on that is much better (even though it’s double the price, paying $100 for a high quality cashmere sweater is definitely worth it). As it stands, I have a lot of very old cashmere from Everlane that I wear more often (I think they styling is just a little more modern) and am not in the market to buy sweaters for at least 5 more years.
5) Celine Cabas Phantom Review: Loved it, but it’s heavy so I sold it. I’m also totes not a tote person.
6) Mejuri Review: I get a lot of hits on this one because I also spend the time talking about what it was like that one time the Mejuri PR department shined their golden light on me and bestowed me with a couple freebies. Did I ask for it? Nope. Do I know how to make it happen? Nope. I still get asked that once in awhile and all I can say is “Sorry, don’t know how I got lucky but I don’t have that ‘honor’ anymore” lol.
7) My Best and Worst Luxury Purchases 2018: This is always a popular topic on YouTube so I thought I would take a stab at it in blog form, and yep it’s a popular post. Here’s my 2021 update to that post.
8) Polene Numero Un Nano Review: The bag was too small and I wasn’t a fan of the quality (I think it had to do with it being the cheaper textured leather version), so I returned it. I’m surprised this gets more views than the original bag that started it all (see number 10 below), and the one I actually used for awhile. Currently my only Polene bag is their Beri bag which I reviewed this past year here.
9) Celine Seau Sangle Review: Loved this bag but it was too heavy, so I sold it. Eventually I replaced it with the Valextra Bucket bag (pictured above), which I love for being lighter in weight and for having only one exterior pocket. I reviewed the Celine back in 2017 when it was less popular (and definitely more affordable secondhand than it is now). Now that it’s popular again do I miss it? Nope.
10) Polene Numero Un Bag Review: And to finish off the top 10 most popular posts last year is my first Polene bag review. I love love loved the bag back in 2018 but sold it in 2020ish because I stopped using it. I don’t really miss it, but if you like the styling and need a medium sized bag I would say it’s a good buy.
Wow after having seen the stats here I wonder why I even blog about ethical/slow-fashion clothing lol. I guess I do it for fun 😂. I would also guess that most of you long-time readers here aren’t as interested in the luxury bags part of the blog, but it’s really just Google bringing people here for these posts. But ah well I just like to write about what I’m interested in 🤷🏻♀️.
