Ok ok so I know last week I said I would skip this consumeristic post but I decided to write it after all because it holds me accountable for all the things I’ve purchased. But if you dislike this type of post, of course feel free to skip I’ll be back next week with another review post.
What I Bought
Shower Pressure Regulator: This might be the best thing I’ve purchased all year, no really lol. We’ve had issues with the shower pressure (first it was too weak, we called the plumber who fixed it and then it was too strong). Now we can regulate the pressure ourselves and customize it to our own personal preferences. Also it’s great for the times I’m shaving in the shower and don’t want to waste water (I can pause the stream without having to turn off the water, thus keeping the water warm when I resume the shower). And if you’re a real fanatic about saving water then this shower pressure regulator will allow you to do trailer showers. TBH I feel like this is what all households in California need to have (we’re still in a drought).
Everlane 90’s cheeky jean (credit): I finally used up the last of my Everlane credit to get another pair of 90’s cheeky jeans. I got one in the lighter vintage color for the summer and decided on this Deep Atlantic one for the winter. I love these high-waisted loose-fitting jeans produced at a Saitex, sustainable and ethical factory.
Nili Lotan trench from Target (pictured above): This is my second fast fashion purchase of the year so I don’t feel too guilty about it, though as a rule I try not to shop for clothes at Target. But every once in awhile I want to experiment with a new style without having to pay the big bucks. I got this just to try out, but I ended up loving the fuller length. I’m wearing a small and since it’s oversized, it fits well without being too big (I’m usually a medium these days). The quality is quite good, and even though the color is a tad darker than I would prefer, I really like this trench and see myself using it quite a bit in the future.
Birkenstock Mule/Clog from eBay: During our Airstream trip I wore my regular Birks with socks, which tbh I was not really a fan of. So I decided to try out the Birk Mules, and since I got mine from eBay for $60 I figured it was a relatively low risk purchase. I’m still undecided about them, and it looks like many of you guys aren’t fans either 😆
Handmade linen top from Christina: I had been eyeing the Rudy Jude puff sleeve top for awhile but couldn’t pull the $200+ trigger. So I’m happy to have found a similar top handmade by an Instagram friend!
What I Was Gifted
Nuori kindly reached out to me asking if I would like to try out and review their products. I normally don’t say yes to skincare companies because 1) my skin is so sensitive and finicky so 2) it would put me in a bit of a pickle if the product doesn’t work (ie I would have to find a way to delicately say the item didn’t work for me and then they probably blacklist me as a blogger that doesn’t work well with brands). BUT I decided to take the risk because I had already been thinking about checking out their sunscreens (as part of a search for sunscreens that don’t give me maskne). Nuori first came on my radar thanks to Therese. She has gorgeous skin and seems like an honest influencer, so I thought it would be worth a shot. And I’m so glad I took the chance because I love love love their Mineral Defense Sunscreen (as I mentioned in my recent skincare post). I also was given their Vital Foaming Cleanser that’s also nice (but tbh I’ll be sticking with my charcoal cleanser from SkinSalvation). Anyway full review of the brand and their products coming soon!
