Quince Review: The Organic Comfort Stretch Chore Jacket, Baby Cashmere, SuperSoft Fleece Shorts, Socks, Rugs, and Fine Jewelry {Updated November 2024}

Quince Review Organic Chore coat

Much like my Everlane review, I decided to do one big collective review of all the things I’ve tried from Quince in the last year. There are some hits and misses and since I’ve tried so many of their items I hope you might find some of my opinions here useful.

One Quince Review Chore Coat

The Organic Comfort Stretch Chore Jacket

A review of this was requested by a reader (and sorry you had to wait so long for it!), but I wasn’t originally going to get this because I’m not really a chore jacket kind of person. I find a lot of chore jackets a tad too long for my 5’4” frame, though I love the utility of a good chore jacket. Quince’s chore jacket is 97% cotton and 3% spandex, hence the stretch. The quality is great and I would say comparable to an Everlane chore jacket (for a bit less in price). Overall I was pretty happy with it though tbh I still rarely wore it because I’m not a chore jacket kind of gal. I ended up selling this one to Crossroads.

One Quince Review Baby Cashmere Sweater

Mongolian Baby Cashmere Crewneck

I ended up getting this late last year or early this year but never got around to reviewing it since I was in Hawaii at the time. But for those of you guys who are wondering what is the difference between Quince’s regular cashmere and their baby cashmere (cashmere fibers combed from the coat of baby goats—don’t worry no baby goats were harmed in the process), I’ve tried out both and can tell you the baby cashmere sweater is definitely more luxe and worth the extra $50. The baby cashmere is thicker and softer (though don’t expect Loro Piana grade thick cashmere-l think the Quince one is still a lower ply than the Loro Piana ones which tend to be pretty thick). The only drawback to the baby cashmere (other than being double the price) last year was the limited colors and styles, but I see that they’ve released more styles this year (though all in the same burgundy or charcoal colors form last year). If you’re looking for a high-quality cashmere sweater in burgundy or charcoal, I highly recommend checking out Quince’s baby cashmere line. Also I should note that in the picture above, I’m wearing the sweater with the bottom tucked in. So the actual sweater it quite a bit longer than pictured. [November 2024 Update: They no longer sell the crew neck so I’ve updated the link to their Super Luxe Baby Cashmere Turtleneck sweater, which now go for $150. Honestly for the quality of the cashmere I still think it’s worth it.]

SuperSoft Fleece Shorts

I almost never get new clothes with plastic (polyester, spandex, etc.) in them these days since I much prefer 100% natural fibers. But I made an exception for the Quince SuperSoft fleece shorts because I needed a really good pair of indoor lounge shorts (since I sized out of most of my shorts in the last year and a half 🤦🏻‍♀️). And tbh this was an impulse purchase because I had a bit more credit left and didn’t want to waste it. But I ended up looooving these shorts. They remind me of a good pair of PE pants (I grew up with PE uniforms, did you?). I wear a large (I’m a size 30 in jeans these days) and find them to be super comfy without being too big. The length is great too. Even though I don’t like buying new plastic in clothes, these pants are 100% worth it since I wear them almost everyday. They’re so good that I bought another pair and am considering a third. And since these will be my forever shorts whenever I’m at home, I’m saying yes to this fleece (though I always wash them in my guppy bag to make sure the plastic microfibers don’t get into the water).

Socks

I purchased both the ankle socks and crew socks to share between my husband and I. The socks are made with a mix of organic cotton and polyester for stretch. I’m not a socks connoisseur or anything (and tbh rarely wear socks since I live in sandals and mules), but these are good socks. I just saw they released some no-show socks so that’s going in my cart for next time! {January 2022 Update: So after using the crew socks more I cannot recommend them. They produce a lot of lint that sticks to the feet, even after washing them inside out. So tbh I rarely wear the crew socks anymore. I am however a fan of the ankle socks (no lint problem there) and the no-show socks. Actually I’m a huuuuge fan of the no-show socks because not only are these socks thicker than the average flimsy no-show socks but they actually stay on my feet. There’s enough material to grip the heel so that they don’t slip off when walking.}

Rugs

Since I had some credit to burn, I decided to take a foray into their rug section. I went with the Finn rug in the smallest size (2.5’ x 7’). I have to say though that now that I’ve tried Ruggable, it’s hard for me to like any other rug. Also the rug is nice and thick (and quite well made), but I didn’t like my choice of rug (it’s not that pretty and kind of reminds me of my Grandma’s old rug—but not in a good way). Anyway I’m pretty sure I won’t be purchasing any more rugs from Quince.

Fine Jewelry

So I’ve tried pretty much every solid gold piece from Quince and the most “worth it” items IMO are the pearl earrings (which I reviewed before here) and their diamond bar necklace. These two pieces feel the most luxe and let’s just say have the best resale value at the RealReal. If you’re looking for a special gift for someone, these two items have the best bang for the buck. You can read my Quince earrings review here. Oh and it seems like their bracelets are especially fragile. [November 2024 Update: I have since collated all my jewelry reviews to this Quince Fine Jewelry Review post.]

Anyway I hope you found this collection of reviews useful! Overall I have to say that I think Quince makes a lot of great products and their quality is quite good for the price. If you’re looking for a basics at a good value, I think Quince is hard to beat!

P.S. You can find all my other Quince reviews here.
