Erica strikes again! Lol, I was once again influenced by her when I purchased this Roma dress from Heinui. I hadn’t heard of this Barcelona brand before stumbling upon it on Erica’s instagram, but I quickly fell in love with their floaty dresses in unique prints. Heinui is designed by French woman Claire Pignot who lives in Barcelona, and all their clothing is handmade by local seamstresses there. Garments are mostly made to order and she uses high quality fabrics that are designed by other artists. This Roma dress in blue paint strokes is designed by Blauverd Atelier on a linen/cotton blend fabric. And when they say quality fabrics, they aren’t kidding. This is the thickest linen/cotton fabric I’ve ever tried, and it kind of reminds me of the fabric used on luxurious drapery/curtains. Since the fabric of this dress is so thick, it’s probably best worn on cooler days instead of the dead of summer.
What first drew me to the dress was the “bishop sleeves with ruffled cuffs.” You know I’m on the hunt for puffed sleeves this year lol, and the ones on this dress is one of my faves. There’s something so feminine about it without being over the top. The craftsmanship of this dress is exquisite with it’s bone buttons and button-loop fastenings (not just any ole’ buttonhole on this dress). This garment definitely feels special and quite unlike most of the dresses in my closet. And it better for the price lol (I did purchase it when it was 20% off so that did help some, but it still came out to $270ish—eek!).
I ordered this in a small and it fit perfectly. I also decided on this dress over the others at Heinui because of the shorter length, which works better for my 5’4” frame. TBH I haven’t worn this dress that often since I got it because of quarantine, the summer heat, and feeling it’s too nice for just the grocery store lol. But I’m definitely going to make an effort to wear it once the weather cools down a bit.
