Unsponsored Cocokind Review

I’m not sure where I first heard of Cocokind but it’s probably Instagram since I feel like they’ve been marketing on social media pretty heavily. So I wanted to see for myself what all the hype was about. Plus their price points are very wallet-friendly so it was a pretty low barrier to entry (and they even offer free returns though I never took them up on their offer). Anyway here’s what I thought about some of their products: (Also please note I have fairly sensitive skin that’s prone to breakouts, with mostly drier skin these days)

And where’s a better place to start than the Starter Kit (pictured above):

Oil to Milk Cleanser: I like this cleanser, especially if I have a lot of makeup on. It really melts the makeup away. However I still have to follow it up with my usual Charcoal cleanser since this one leaves an oily residue on my face. I like it but not enough to repurchase it.

Ceramide Barrier Serum: This was a complete dud for me. Every time I used it, I would break out into tiny little bumps (and I hardly ever breakout these days with my usual skincare and makeup routine). I used it twice to make sure it was this product breaking me out (yup it was), and then donated it to Project Beauty Share.

Resurrection Polypeptide Cream: This is the clear winner of all the items I tried from my first purchase. This cream has essentially replaced my AB Rich cream in the mornings and has become part of my regular skin care routine. It hydrates without breaking me out and there’s no smells to the cream. And as I mentioned in my recent post, the only thing I don’t like about it is the jar it comes in (though on the bright side, since it’s glass I can recycle it once I finish it).

Other items I tried for my first purchase:

Chlorophyll Discoloration Serum: I honestly haven’t uses this consistently enough to see results. But overall the jelly texture is nice and it’s a gentle serum. I think it might be a great option for those who are sensitive to high doses of vitamin c in serum (like I am). I’ll try to use it daily until it’s gone and report back the results.

Aha Jelly Cleanser: I tend to steer clear of AHA’s since my skin is on the sensitive side, but I found this cleanser gentle enough for everyday use. I use it in the mornings and find that my skin feels clean without being dry or tight. This might just sub in for my current morning cleanser.

Revitilizing Eye Cream: I’m not really an eye cream person. Sure, I’ve tried them from time to time, including the Augustinus Bader one (👎🏼) and the Lamer one (also sadly 👎🏼 for me). And I’m starting to think I’m just not an eye cream kind of person. I liked the applicator and feel of the formula, however after using it for several days in a row it might have clogged a pore near my bottom eye lid (a first for me). So I ended up stop using it.

Overall I was pretty impressed with the products, especially considering their affordable price points. And for the most part I feel like the products did what they were advertised as (example, if it said gentle it was gentle). As I said I’m a big fan of the resurrection polypeptide cream and when I reorder that again I might look into trying more products from cocokind.

Have you guys tried their products and if so what did you think?
