If you’re a long time reader, you know that I love me some New Year’s Resolutions. True, they almost always fail by February but I just can’t help myself and make them most years. I don’t think I made any for 2023 though my 2022 version was “Less New 2022.” Maybe because 2023 was my 40th year and I was really “treating myself”, but my buying was out of control by the end of the year (hello three The Row Park totes in December 🤦🏻♀️—all secondhand, but still). But instead of beating myself up over it, I’m going to gently bring myself back to my more mindful spending ways and remind myself that there are cycles in life. 2022 was about less, 2023 ended up being about more, so 2024 will again be about less. And with that I’m kicking off a no spend month, a No Buy January. No new (or used) clothes, shoes, bags, makeup, etc. And correspondingly I will be making outfits with my StyleBook App, reading more books, and possibly dipping my toe in YouTube (hello The Row Park totes review 😆). Anyway I hope you kick-off this new year with a bit of a refresh or maybe a centering back to something that was!
