Quince Packing Cubes Review

I’m easing back into the review-train with a quick review of one thing that I really loved during my RV trip: Quince’s eco compression packing cubes. I’ve heard people raving about packing cubes before, but I never really got the hype because I tried some flimsy nylon ones from Muji and never really liked them. Yes, I use them for storing things but I never packed with them. But I was willing to try Quince’s version because I knew I’d be doing some traveling (mostly via RV) this year. And wow, have they made a difference!

First off these packing cubes come with two sets of zippers: one for the “lid” of the packing cube and another set to zip it flat. So once you’re done with the packing cube, they zip up flat and are easy to pack back up. And the zippers are great, high-quality zippers that zip super smoothly (which is important if you’re really trying to compress down your clothes). I also love the super sturdy material of these packing cubes, and bonus: they’re made from recycled plastic water bottles. The nylon material is super thick so that when you try to squeeze in a bunch of clothing, it actually does help compress the clothing down. And that’s great, except it does lead to some overpacking (I mean if it fits why not, right? lol). And I could see this being an issue when traveling via plane, but when you’re traveling by car (or RV) weight isn’t really an issue. Or for the plane, use the smaller packing cubes and really squeeze in all your stuff so you can do carry-on only.

If all packing cubes are like this, then I can see why some people might shell out $110 for the Monos ones. But for $50 for 6 sizes (XL to XS) for the Quince ones, I think it’s more than worth it. And I guess other people think so too since I see that they’re currently sold out on all three color ways. I wanted to get another set for my husband in gray but I guess I’ll have to wait until the restock.

Anyway I rarely do a Quince review devoted to just one item (see all my other Quince reviews here), but then again it’s rare for a Quince item to really wow me like these packing cubes.
