I ordered these Linenfox heavyweight linen ocean pants back in August, and even though I wore them a couple times in the summer, they really are better suited for cooler temperatures (I was wearing my linen pants from Quince on hot days). Now that we’re in the 50-60s consistently, I’ve been wearing this almost every other day, and I love them.
And I’m not surprised that I do since I loved my first pair of Ocean Pants from Linenfox. In fact I loved them to death lol (until there were two big gaping holes in the pants). That’s when I put in the order for the Ocean pants but this time in a heavyweight linen. Hopefully I won’t have holes in them three years from now like I did with the regular linen pants.

I got them in my usual size, medium, but I measured my old pair (which I had hemmed at a tailor) so that I wouldn’t have to have this new pair hemmed (and it also saves Linenfox just a bit more fabric). I asked for an inseam of 60cm (decided to ask for it in the metric system so that there was no confusion—though I’m sure as professionals you could give measurements in inches as well), and they were able to do it because all their items are made to order (I just love slow fashion!). Of course the only downside of slow fashion is that it takes about 6-8 weeks from the time of your order to delivery—but it’s worth the wait!
Anyway I’m thrilled with my new Ocean pants. The pants feel way more expensive than the $84 I paid for them. They’re made with the amazing quality that I’ve come to expect from Linenfox. And the heavyweight linen is 340g/m2, which is the heaviest linen I’ve ever owned. Linenfox usually uses a 185g/m2 midweight linen for most of their clothing. For reference here is my guide of linen weights from other slow fashion brands. The heavy linen from Linenfox is quite a bit heavier than all the rest and very substantial. Thus they’re perfect for California winters (and maybe in colder places if you wear tights underneath). These are not summer pants. I also find that the heavyweight linen doesn’t wrinkle as much so it looks more polished.
Overall I’ve always been really happy with my Linenfox purchases and I’m sure this one won’t be my last. You can read all my other Linenfox reviews here.
