Augustinus Bader Review: The Lip Balm {Updated October 2022}
Let me just say that having grown up in Hawaii, I rarely used lip balm. There was no such thing as chapped lips in my childhood, unless we went to the US mainland. So I’m not really experienced with lip balms and I was never a chapstick addict. I’ve tried various lip balms since moving to California (20 years ago lol) and thus far I have never found one that I loved. I basically went from chapstick to a free Sephora sample or another when I needed it. But now my search is over because I can definitely say that the Augustinus Bader lip balm is The One.
I love that this lip balm is just the right texture. It’s not overly greasy (it smooths on the lighter side), but it 100% moisturizes for a very long time. I also love that there are no smells or tastes to the lip balm. I usually smooth it once at night and once in the morning and it keeps my lips moisturized. And what I love the most about it is that it doesn’t leave my lips feeling drier than before. That’s my number one pet peeve and it pretty much happens with any lip product I’ve ever tried. But I also love that I can wear this under a mask and it doesn’t irritate the skin around my mouth (which some greasy lip balm formulas tend to do).
This lip balm is 100% vegan and free of gluten, GMOs, parabens, fragrance, SLS, SLES, DEA, heavy metals, talc and petrolatum/paraffin/mineral oil. It’s a clean beauty product. And it comes in a signature copper-tinted PCR Aluminum case (think of the cases used by Fresh).
Anyway I am definitely going to repurchase this lip balm when it’s out, and until then I hope they come up with a lip balm with SPF for those bright sunny days!

{June 2022 Update: So it’s been about a year and I still have a tiny bit left of this lip balm (I only use it when needed so not everyday). But I’m still a devoted fan and I’ve already purchased my next tube!}
{October 2022: I finally finished the last of my first tube and am working through my second. I’m waiting to purchase a third since it’s currently all sold out—and for good reason too, it’s a miracle worker!}
