Moving from conspicuous to conscious consumption and doing reviews along the way.  Find plenty of unsponsored reviews of Quince, Everlane, Grana, and Cuyana on the site!  I'm working towards a minimal waste lifestyle, and oh yea I love bags >.<

Weekend Update/Ramblings

My first peony (I know, what took me so long?)

My first peony (I know, what took me so long?)

Hi guys! How have you been? For those of us in the states, did you enjoy your Memorial Day weekend? We were pretty busy with kids birthday parties and hanging out with friends. It was definitely nice to be able to gather again. Did you shop any sales? I bought a small Ruggable rug (<—review) since I’ve been wanting to get one for our entryway, and had been waiting for their sale. But other than that I’ve been trying not to since I’ve been buying quite a few things every month (and I need to work harder to earn my blog name).

As for me, nothing much new here. I’m trying to get back into a workout routine and have recently picked up the kettlebell. My husband bought one last year during lock down thinking he’d workout (but he rarely does lol). And since it’s around I decided to pick it up and try some kettlebell workouts. So far I do it about three times a week when I find the time and I’m enjoying it. My muscles ache like heck (I feel like a really old woman) the following day but I can tell I’m getting stronger. I find my workouts on Youtube and recommend Total Body Coach if you’re just beginning or Carol Girven if you’re into more dance music and less talking for workout videos (but she also gives less instruction so she’s probably best for more intermediate levels).

Lately I’ve watched a couple of great documentaries. The first one I recommend is Crime of the Century on HBOMax. It’s a documentary about the opioid epidemic (how it started, how it’s going), which I knew was bad, but whew the corruption that allows this to continue runs deep. It blows my mind. I also enjoyed watching Our Towns on HBOMax. This documentary is based on a book (of the same name) that looks at various small towns in the US and what has changed them and what makes them endure.

Anyway hope you are all doing swell so far this summer!
