What I Bought in June

Crossroads Trading items

It’s been another month of purchases so I’ve decided to do a No Buy July (as I explained this past weekend) and will try to continue it for three months total. It’s time for a reset!

What I Bought

Off On Clothing Dress: I actually ordered this in April and forgot all about it until I got it this month. (If that isn’t a sign of I’m buying too much then I don’t know what is). But I love this off-white dress in a lovely crisp cotton fabric.

Small rug from Ruggable: Technically this was a Memorial day purchase so I bought it in May. I had been waiting for a Ruggable sale to get a little discount on a rug I’ve been wanting for our entryway. We still love our large living room Ruggable and you can read my full review of Ruggable here.

Linenfox Mimosa Dress: You know how much I love Linenfox (especially my Anna dress), so I decided to take another chance on one of their dresses. I especially loved their new gingham linen fabric and decided to get it made in the Mimosa design (a wrap dress). Full review to come soon!

Small Lot Co order: So after my first order from them (my rust mary-janes), I jumped at ordering another pair of their mary-janes in an indigo color. I had mentioned I wanted to buy this one too in my first order but decided to test it out with one pair first, but then they were out of stock for a while. And then I decided to order a pair for Emi (I know she’ll just grow out of it in 4 months 🤦🏻‍♀️, but still I couldn’t resist 🤷🏻‍♀️). Annnd I tacked on a hat to that order because I am always on the lookout for a good sun-blocking hat. I had been wanting a cute bucket hat that wasn’t too trendy, and their simple recycled canvas ones fit the bill. Full review of all my Small Lot Co things will be posted next!

Augustinus Bader Face Oil: I purchased this from AugustinusBader.com (though the link is for Violet Grey which I’ve noticed has the best prices for AB products). Again thanks to all those who signed up for the AB Club through my form, I was able to get it for $5 due to the loyalty points I accumulated. And since I set up a recurring order for this (which I set for a 20 week delivery, which gives me enough time to try it out and cancel if I don’t like it) I also got another Augustinus Bader body lotion as a free gift. Since the new formulation of the AB Rich cream is noticeably less rich, I wanted to see if adding the face oil to it will bring it back to the moisture levels of the older rich cream formula. Of course full review of how it goes will be up later. If you want to join their loyalty program to get 20% off your first order, fill out this form I made and I can send you an invite directly (and I will also get some points for each referral, so thanks for helping me to review more AB products!).

Augustinus Bader x Victoria Beckham Priming Moisturizer: This is a reorder since I just finished my first bottle of Priming Moisturizer after about a year and a half (I wasn’t wearing makeup for the most of last year). Since I had some credit from AB.com (thanks to all of you guys who join the club with my 20% off referral link) I got the duo (one of the bottles is the “golden” color). I’m a little iffy about the tinted one but thought it’d be worth a shot. You can read my original review of the untinted Victoria Beckham Priming Moisturizer here.

Iris Metal Garment Rack

Iris Metal Garment Rack: I used to have the Iris garment rack with just the rack, but that’s currently being used by a friend so I decided to purchase this garment rack with shelves so I can put my plants or bags on it. I mean how can I be a legit style blogger without a garment rack? 😆

Crossroads Trading items: I went to Crossroads for the first time since the pandemic and it was pretty fun. Unfortunately their fitting rooms weren’t opened so there were a couple things that didn’t fit right or was too small when I tried them on at home. Oh well. Luckily I had enough credit from past trades that I didn’t have to buy anything with money. Anyway some of the stuff that didn’t work will either go on my shop or back to Crossroads 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Everlane A-line short: I got this one through referral credit since I needed a good pair of mom jean shorts (all my denim shorts are very short cut-offs from pre-pregnancy that don’t fit anymore). I decided to try out this big denim shorts trend and I gotta say I don’t mind it.

Mansur Gavriel Balloon Bag: I got this used from the RealReal and it was a total impulse purchase using some credit that was burning a hole in my pocket. I had admired the balloon bag since the day it was released and had been keeping an eye out for one in the used market. You can still find them new (at a great sales price right now) from some stores, but they’re being discontinued by Mansur Gavriel.

Polene Numero Onze (eleven): This is what definitely convinced me to do a No Buy July (+2 months). I don’t need another bag but I just loved this little dumpling. I justified it’s purchase by saying I won’t buy anything else after this.

What I Was Gifted

Everlane 90’s Cheeky Straight Jeans: Ok ok I know what you might be thinking. What am I doing getting gifts from Everlane. Well I first tried out these jeans with store credit I had earned through referrals and for once I actually liked a pair of jeans from them. So then I wanted to see if my past work (and the minimal commission I still earn from it) was enough to get me a free item. Turns out it does and I’m going to take it. I’ll never go back to my Everlane addict days, but I’m going to let myself get one or two items from them to help build out my basic wardrobe (in my new bigger size). I plan to treat them like I do fast fashion: purchase occasionally and use well.

Yep so I think that’s all of it. Whew I definitely overdid it and I look forward to hitting pause on all this consumption! It’s time to work on my gratitude muscle for all that I already have!
