Not much to talk about this week but just some random thoughts. I recently started doing more Yin style yoga (it’s slow and more about relaxation than it is a good workout). I found SarahBethYoga on youtube and love her soothing yoga videos. I do them right before bedtime and I feel like it’s been helping me sleep better.
Something I tried that I wasn’t a fan of: magnetic eyeliner with false lashes. Yep it’s a liquid eyeliner that contains magnetic particles, and the false lashes have little magnets stuck to them. So in theory you can take them off and re-adjust, etc but in practice, once you take off the lashes, it removes the eyeliner with it. So you’re left with funky looking eyeliner and lashes that don’t restick. Also they are uncomfortable AF. If I’m going to do false lashes, give me the old-fashioned ones any day (or better yet I would go back to extensions once things open up again and we’re all vaccinated).
This week I enjoyed Lo’s post on cobalt (big yes to this trend) and Kat’s post on books by Asian Americans (I definitely added some of these to my future book list). And if you missed Leah’s post on Whiteness, please do read it. It is so well-written and thoughtful, and I learned a thing or two.
We’re heading back to California this week and I’m nervous. Wish us luck that we make it back healthy and with a relatively uncranky toddler! As much as I loved being in Hawaii with family, I’m antsy to get back. I miss our dogs, our friends, and Trader Joe’s lol.
