Most Worn Items of 2021

I really like doing my end of the year recap of what I wore most in the past year because it helps me stop and reflect on what have been the true workhorses of my closet. Last year, not surprisingly, loungewear and all things comfy were at the top of the list (here’s 2020’s most worn list). I also did this in 2018 (with data from my Stylebook App) and I’m happy to see that some things have stayed on the most worn list even three years later. Which just goes to show that I may buy a lot of different things throughout the year but I probably don’t have to since I stick with a lot of the same things anyway.

Mate the Label Terry Raglan Sweatshirt: For most of 2021 I had only two of these and rotated between the two constantly during the winter, spring, and fall seasons. Well I just recently purchased 2 more (one on eBay and one during their Black Friday sale) and I love them all. If I were to base what gets on this “most worn” list by cost per wear alone, my first two Mate the Label sweatshirts would have some ofthe best cost per wear and thus deserve a top spot on this list. You can read my full Mate the Label review here.

Everlane 90s Cheeky Jean and A-line Denim Short: After not wearing jeans for most of 2020, I found that I had sized out of all my old jeans this year. So I ended up purchasing a couple new jeans (see my review of the Agolde 90’s mid-rise jeans, the Madewell Balloon jeans, and the Levi’s ribcage jeans here). But my favorite and most worn jeans came from Everlane. In the summer I rotated between the 90’s Cheeky jean in a vintage light denim color and the A-line denim short. And this fall and winter I’ve been wearing mostly the 90’s Cheeky in the deep Atlantic color. You can see my review of these jeans here.

St. Agni Mules: Last year in Hawaii I didn’t wear these leather mules as much. But since the temperatures started to drop here, I’ve rekindled my love for these shoes. I can comfortably walk miles in them, they look great with any outfit, and they’re super durable. What more can I ask for? My review of these St. Agni mules here.

Celine Blade Bag: Ever since I got this bag in September it’ been my daily go-to bag, but since that was only 3 months ago it might be a bit early to call it a “most worn item.” But still it’s going on this list because it’s hands-down my favorite mom bag of 2021. You can read my full review of the Celine Blade Bag here.

Uniqlo Lounge Pants: These were on my most worn items last year and unsurprisingly they’re on my list this year. These are my go-to lounging-at-home pants because they’re so lightweight and comfortable. They are unfortunately 100% polyester so I do wash them in my guppy bag (to prevent plastic microfibers from entering the water). But they’ve last me over 10 years so I don’t consider them fast fashion.

Arizona Birkenstocks: And these Birks were also on my most worn list last year. They’re my go-to warm weather shoe and the MVP of my closet. Are they so worn that parts of the bottom are completely flat and smooth? Yes. But do they still have lots of life left in them? That would be a heck yes.

Celine Soft Cube Bag: Now that Emi is in pre-school and I no longer have to carry EVERYTHING with me, I’m switching between the Blade bag (aka my mom bag) and my good ‘ole Soft Cube bag. This bag is a long time favorite because not only is it super functional but also quite lightweight. You can read my review of the Soft Cube bag here.

Honorable mention:

The Curated Classic Coat: I’m adding this coat in the honorable mention section here because I haven’t had this coat for very long but it’s become a fast favorite. I’ve pretty much worn this everyday since I got it (well everyday I go out), and I love it more each time I wear it. I have a feeling this will definitely be on my most worn list next year! Full review of this coat coming Thursday!
