Moving from conspicuous to conscious consumption and doing reviews along the way.  Find plenty of unsponsored reviews of Quince, Everlane, Grana, and Cuyana on the site!  I'm working towards a minimal waste lifestyle, and oh yea I love bags >.<

What I Bought in December

Miere the label sweater and vasic bag

I’m happy to report that I didn’t buy too many extra closet items this month (ok ok so I still got another bag). But overall I purchased more for family members, more essentials, and more items that’ll help me with my goals for 2022.

What I Bought

Upright Go 2 Posture Trainer: One of the things I want to work on in the coming year is my horrible posture. So I got this posture trainer in hopes of jumpstarting that process. I’ve been eyeing it for awhile now and it finally has come down in price enough for me to want to try it. If anyone’s interested I can do a review of it later.

Brooklyn Made Natural order: In my hunt for a good soap dish for my shampoo bar, I found this zero-waste Etsy shop. I was especially interested in their travel soap dish made of cornstarch and bamboo, thus being 100% biodegradable. I got their “imperfect” ones (for $4 less) and tbh I can’t really see any imperfections. I also decided to throw in a coconut bottle brush and organic lavender lotion bar with my order.

Women’s lounge set and sweater from Miere The Label: I had actually ordered this a couple months ago but since shipping from Australia takes a bit of time, I finally got it this month. Miere is a little knitwear and loungewear brand started by fellow blogger Jaime-Lee. I’ve been following her for ages and so wanted to support her new business venture. The knitwear (made of 100% organic cotton) is great and I’ll be sure to do a review of it soon!

Commis Kid set for Emi: And speaking of new business ventures by friends, some very close family friends just recently started this homemade playdough kit business, and so of course I had to get a set for Emi. They currently have pasta-making, pie-making, and cookies kits, each with custom tiny tools made for little hands. She loves playing with the kit, I love the fact that there’s no plastic in the kits and the dough is made from non-toxic and edible ingredients (and thus also biodegradable). Also the playdough doesn’t leave any funky smells on her hands. I got the cookie kit so that we can use the cookie cutters later to make real holiday cookies!

Bobbi Brown Foundation and Beauty Blender from Sephora: I waited for another Sephora sale (surprisingly it was during the week after Black Friday) to restock on my foundation essentials. I’ve used the same beauty blender sponge for the last 3-4 years (I know, but I don’t wear foundation everyday so 🤷🏻‍♀️) and I have a third left of my Bobbi Brown foundation. So I figured it was a good time to replenish both for 20% off.

My Black Friday purchases (technically purchased in November but I like to add it here in case I end up returning things):

More Pepper Bras: As I mentioned in my Pepper bra review this past month, I bought more Pepper bras during their Black Friday sale (it really only saved me $15 off of 2 bras but I guess it’s better than nothing). I really love Pepper bras and I’m glad to have a couple more to rotate through. All my old bras (which were at least 5-6 years old) have been relegated to the emergency pile.

Mate the Label Sweatshirt in navy for me and rose for Emi: These sweatshirts were my most worn items in 2020 and 2021, and I’ve been wanting another one all year so I finally got one during their black friday sale (for 30% off). I had purchased another one from eBay last month so now I have four that I can rotate through. I also got a sweatshirt for Emi too since it’d be nice to twin once in awhile lol.

Vasic bag from Shopbop: I follow a couple Japanese influencers on Insta and that’s where I first heard of this brand (I also follow Vasic's Insta for the latest in minimal Japanese fashion). And then earlier this year I found that Shopbop carried some of their more popular bags so I put it on my favorites list. Well fast forward to Black Friday and I hopped onto Shopbop to see what they had for sale (a mistake I know 🤦🏻‍♀️), but when I saw this bag for almost 60% off (a sale on the sale price) I couldn’t resist. I linked the white one here but I got it in black.

What I got with credit

Quince: Fleece wide leg pants, European Linen crib quilt, Luxe button down shirt for men, candles, earrings for giveaway

Yep I ended up getting a lot of things from Quince using credit earned through my referral link (thank you so much to everyone who used it!). I got the wide leg pants for me (love them!), the quilt for Emi (she loves it!), the luxe button down shirts for my husband (he loves it!), and the candles and earrings as gifts (verdict still out on those lol). I very rarely find things I don’t like from Quince so I feel very lucky to be able to earn these credits to try out more of their items for both myself and for my family and friends. A big review of everything to come soon!

What I Returned

Lug Sole Mary Janes from Small Lot Co: I bought these as soon as they were released because I’ve been on the hunt for a lug sole shoe for awhile now (ever since I returned the Ganni platform loafers in September). Well I love Small Lot Co’s regular mary janes (review here) but unfortunately the lug sole ones didn’t fit in the same size (they were the perfect width but too long). It might have worked with socks but I wasn’t planning to wear socks with them so I thought it best to return them. But too bad since they were super cute and the sole was super bouncy.

Anyway seeing how I’ve been consuming kind of crazily this past year, I’m very much determined to consume less this coming year! #LessNew2022
