When I wrote my last St. Agni review, lovely reader Nora recommended I check out LoQ (thanks for enabling Nora lol). I went down a Loq rabbit hole and came out the other side with these Carmen mules in faux snakeskin. I was drawn to their squared off yet pointed toe design (instead of a full square toe effect, which I’ve decided is just not for me). I also loooove the little rounded wooden heel. The design feels fresh and something different from my usual pointed toe mules.
If you’re not familiar with LoQ, they’re a brand out of LA founded by two women in 2015. All shoes are made in Spain out of quality materials. They don’t have a lot of information about their production or factory but I can tell these are no fast fashion shoes. They have wonderful insole padding and they feel like a luxury shoe. In fact, they feel as quality as a pair of Jimmy Choos (actually they feel better than the Jimmy Choos I once had). Their prices, reflecting the quality, isn’t cheap. But you can find their shoes for sale frequently on their site or another retailer. I purchased this pair for about 40% off retail (and for that price I think these shoes are 100% worth it). Right now I see that they’re on sale for the same price I paid over at MyTheresa.
As for sizing, I'm wearing a 38 here and because it’s a mule, I find the sizing to be quite forgiving if a tad small. If I was ordering a pump or a shoe other than an open-backed mule I might try sizing up to 39 (they don’t come in half sizes).
Anyone else have any experience with Loq shoes and what did you think?
{May 2023 Update: I ended up selling these Loq flats because I just never reached for them. Even though they felt luxurious, I wasn’t able to walk long distances with them. And I found myself reaching for my St. Agni Saul mules all the time and never these so out they went.}
