Quince Clothing Review: The Linen Tank

One Quince Review: The Linen Tank

It’s probably a tad late in the year (in the Northern Hemisphere) to be raving about a linen tank top, especially since I’ve already seen the term sweater weather bandied about. So this review is for my Southern Hemisphere and Equatorial friends out there looking to add a very reasonably-priced, good quality linen top to their wardrobe. This 100% organic linen top from Quince was an impulse purchase of sorts since I had some credit in my account (thank you so much to all you guys who used my referral link in the past). But ever since writing my ethical linen comparison review, I use a brand’s linen items as a benchmark to determine the overall quality of their goods. And I wanted to know how Quince measured up, even though I have already reviewed and love their leather bags, cashmere sweater, and linen sheets. And I’m happy to say I was not disappointed.

First a note on sizing. I would say Quince items run very TTS. I’m wearing a small here and it fits perfectly (I’m 5’4” and usually wear a size 4-6 on top). I really love the fit of this tank because the arm holes aren’t too large (no bra peeking out over here) and the neck hole is also just right. The length is also perfect and it falls right around the hips.

The linen quality on this was surprisingly amazing. I say surprisingly because this tank sells for $26! TBH that’s pretty much fast fashion prices, but I wouldn’t consider it fast fashion since Quince only makes a limited quantity and in limited colors. They’re not rolling out a new style weekly. And it’s not fast fashion because the quality of their linen is definitely made to last. This linen top is 100% organic linen and also dyed from a mill that meets the bluesign criteria (which means that the item was made according to standards that minimized impact to the environment).

This tank only comes in 3 colors, and unfortunately this driftwood color is currently out of stock. I imagine the white version of this would probably be slightly sheer (as all white linen tends to be). But I was pleasantly surprised to find that this beige one is 100% opaque. It’s slightly darker than the oatmeal linen of my Only Child Cove pants and this linen tank is more of a tan color in comparison.

Overall, I’m really happy with this simple linen piece and can’t wait to wear it more in hot weather!
