Augustinus Bader Review: The Face Oil
Last week I said that the Augustinus Bader Soothing Cream was one of my worst purchases of 2022, but I have to say the Augustinus Bader Face Oil was one of my best. I never thought I would be a face oil kind of gal because I’ve grown up with oily skin and acne. I’ve been trying to remove oil from my face all my life. But now that I’m close to 40, I find that the AB Face oil is just what I need for dry California winters.
As much as I love my Augustinus Bader Rich Cream, I have to admit that the Face Oil is definitely richer and more moisturizing. I only put the Face Oil on at at night since it would make my face too slick for morning use. But it absorbs quickly and doesn’t feel overly greasy considering it’s an oil. And when I wake up the next morning my face never looked better and felt more smooth. It definitely achieved results that even consistent Rich Cream use couldn’t do. I also didn’t break out at all when using this oil, which seems like a miracle to me. I originally purchased it to layer with other creams if my skin felt dry, but using the oil directly provided all the moisturizing I needed.
However, with the $93 price tag for 10ml (which lasted me about 2 months of almost nightly use) it’s not something I can readily afford to add to my skincare routine. It truly feels like a treat and it might be a splurge for a later date. But it’s 100% worth the splurge! I think if you have dry skin and the budget for it, the Augustinus Bader Face Oil will work well for you.
