What I Bought in May

TDO dress, April Meets Oct pink dress, Hermes Evelyne III, Levi’s rib cage jeans

This May I definitely bought more items for my closet than I intended to. I think it was partly due to the changing of the season and the optimism of things slowly returning to pre-pandemic conditions.

What I Bought

Two Days Off Jordan Dress: So actually this was purchased in April but I forgot to add it to that month’s list (oops) so I’m adding it here. I got this during their Earth Day sale (even though yes I think Earth day is becoming too much of a Hallmark-type commercial holiday). But I love supporting my favorite brand and saving a buck or two at the same time. I wore this dress as soon as I got it and I love it!.

Levi’s Ribcage Straight Ankle Jeans: Long story short, I ended up selling the Agolde 90’s jeans to a friend because it was just too small (I couldn’t sit down without undoing the top buttons). And instead of having clothes for a body that I want (and may have someday), I rather just have clothes that I can wear right now. So I have started my search for a more affordable mom jean that fits, starting with the Levi’s ribcage jean. Surprisingly a lot of you guys did not care for it in my Insta poll (but then those of you guys who loved it kindly told me so in the post so thank you lol). Anyway I’ll go into my whole mom jeans search saga (including my try-ons of the Agolde 90’s jeans in a larger size) in a later post.

Quince Linen shorts and tank: Thanks to all of you guys who purchase through my Quince referral link for $10 off, I’ve accumulated some credit. So when I saw them release their new organic linen shorts, I snapped some up right away because I loooove Quince’s linen tank (<-- review). And I have to say I wasn’t disappointed (I got both a medium and a large and both fit). I also purchased a couple more linen tanks in a larger size (see above about dressing for the size I am now). The tank and shorts together in the same color is a great chic summer uniform.

April Meets October Ogden Dress: I had been eyeing the April Meets October Ogden dress for awhile now, but they only had it in a white color until just recently. But when they released it in this pink orchid-y color I couldn’t resist. (I think I might be in a happy pink phase right now lol). You probably know the brand best by their May dresses but I felt the long length and the long-ish torso of that dress wouldn’t really work for my frame. But I’m really happy with this Ogden dress and can’t wait to wear it all summer. P.S. They are having a memorial day sale right now for 20% off with the code HAPPYMAY. Darn I wish I had waited lol 😆

Augustinus Bader Body Cream: I purchased this from AugustinusBader.com (though the link is for Violet Grey which I’ve noticed has the best prices for AB products). I was able to get it for $5 due to the loyalty points I accumulated through AB.com. And since I set up a recurring order for this (which I set for a 20 week delivery, which gives me enough time to try it out and cancel if I don’t like it) I also got the Augustinus Bader body lotion as a free gift. I had been wanting to try out both for awhile now, but didn’t want to commit the big bucks for a body cream. Well thanks to the AB Club program I could get $160 off and so it was a no-brainer not to try. As usual a full review will be up later! Oh and I also got the Augustinus Bader lip balm with my first order of Rich Cream from the AB site last month, so a review of that will be up too (spoiler: it’s amazing and I’ll be repurchasing this when I eventually run out). If you want to join their loyalty program to get 20% off your first order, fill out this form I made and I can send you an invite directly (and I will also get some points for each referral, so thanks for helping me to review more AB products!).

What I Was Gifted (from family)

Hermes Evelyne III PM: So this was a generous mother’s day present. I had been eyeing this large-ish crossbody bag for awhile since it looks like a nice casual bag to carry all the toddler things. And I’ve always loved the neutral Etoupe color. As usual you can expect a review of this bag in the future.

What I Returned

Ilana Kohn Mabel Jacket from the RealReal: So after some thinking and poll-taking over on Insta, I decided to return this chore jacket from Ilana Kohn. As much as I loved the color, style, and price, for some reason it didn’t work for me. I think the length might have been a touch too long and I felt it made me look a tad wider than usual. Alas it was not meant to be.
