Weekend Update/Ramblings

And the winner of my Gal/Valentine’s Day giveaway is Huan-Hua (you’ve been emailed)! Thanks again to everyone who entered. We were able to raise a small sum that was all donated to the Loveland Foundation!

Anyway I’ve finally finished my 3 part series on “Tips for Starting a Blog” last week. What did you guys think? It definitely was a lot more that I had intended on writing. Sorry to bore some of you who have no intention of starting a blog lol. And as a site note, I noticed that after writing my second (social media and monetization) and third parts (Google SEO and Analytics) I lost about half my RSS subscribers 😱. It was quite a shock, especially since they made the effort to re-subscribed with a somewhat lengthy url. I guess I kind of understand since being reminded that a blog is monetized (ie making money from your buying behaviors) is off-putting. And it’s definitely a delicate balance. Well I’m not sure what to make of it and what to do about it (probably nothing 🤷🏻‍♀️) but I guess I’m just going to keep on writing since that’s what I love to do. Anyway I just want to thank the half of you guys that did stick around! I really appreciate that you guys care what I have to say here.

In other news, I wanted to jumpstart my joy of styling outfits so this week I decided to challenge myself to wear the same pair of pants everyday for 5 days. I have to say I had fun doing this outfit challenge for myself (and for this blog), without the pressure to post it on Instagram (though I did, but that was for me). I feel like community outfit challenges on Instagram are often to find other people in your “tribe” but it’s also a way for influencers to try to get more follows. And the rigorous pace is just too much sometimes. I don’t know, but it doesn’t feel natural to me anymore and I don’t see myself participating in Instagram challenges in the near future 🤷🏻‍♀️. I rather just post when I want to.

Anyway I hope you are all having a fantastic Gal/Valentine’s, Lunar New Year, President’s Day Weekend!
