Touchland Hand Sanitizer Review
The review for these Touchland Hand Sanitizers has been sitting in my drafts folder for over a year now since I got them in December 2019 to give as gifts for Christmas. Little did I know that a pandemic and subsequent hand sanitizer shortage would be just around the corner. Luckily I kept a few for myself and didn’t give away all of my 6-pack set and thus had some hand sanitizer when I really needed it. But now that hand sanitizer production is in overdrive and you can purchase it everywhere, would I recommend these fancy spray hand sanitizers?
No, probably not. First of all they’re quite pricey at $12 per spray container. If used consistently they may last you a couple months or a bit more. But I had one that I had stored on it’s side and it basically leaked/evaporated from the container without me even using it. So that was literally $12 disappearing into thin air. And then for the two I did use up, I always found it a little more cumbersome to take it out and then spray my hands. Also watch where you’re spraying since you don’t want to end up spraying alcohol on someone. Even though the description of their hand sanitizer says it doesn’t smell like alcohol, at 67% alcohol it sure does when you first spray it. And I’m not sure how effective this kind of light mist of alcohol is compared to the gel (it seems like it might be less effective since you’re not really covering every inch of skin with a mist). As for their claims of the hand sanitizer softening hands and moisturizing, I couldn’t really tell the difference. It’s not a moisturizer and it still contains alcohol so there’s really only so much it can do. And lastly I’m not a huge fan of these hand sanitizers because of its excessive use of plastic. At least if you have a small bottle of purell, that can be refillable. But these are all one time use containers.
The one good thing of the Touchland hand sanitizers is that I have to say, they do smell great. But that one pro doesn’t outweigh the cons to me. I am grateful I had these during the Great Hand Sanitizer Shortage of Spring 2020, but I’ll stick with the gel hand sanitizers from now on.
Anyone else try Touchland and what did you think?
